Shanghai promotes the development of future industries with three main considerations in mind.

Pilot low-carbon technologies such as natural gas blended hydrogen in gas-fired power and heat generation by 2030.

For long-haul freight vehicles, encourage the use of clean energy such as hydrogen fuel and liquefied natural gas (LNG), gradually increase the proportion of clean energy, and carry out demonstration of the application of clean energy medium and heavy-duty trucks by 2035, and gradually promote the commercial application of clean energy medium and heavy-duty trucks after 2035.

A number of transportation near-zero carbon emission demonstration projects will be built, and demonstrations of renewable energy use in transportation hubs and stations, low-carbon terminals, clean energy demonstration of non-road mobile sources and hydrogen fuel cell application will be carried out.
